Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall

The Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall was designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry and opened to the public in 2003. Easily recognized by its modern design of warped stainless steel panels, it is the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. A favorite of some, controversial for others, the building is impressive to behold and is part of the downtown area's recent renovations.

Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall Interior Design

As visually amazing as the outside of the Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall may be, the inside is just as remarkable. In contrast to the stainless steel panels outside, the interior is built primarily of natural woods. Again, Frank Gehry's original designs make the hall incredibly unique, including the main hall where the large organ resides.

Just as with the exterior of the building, Frank Gehry's organ design came with a certain amount of controversy. A single look at it makes it easy to understand why, as the organ looks like no other. Nevertheless, it flows beautifully with the concert hall's overall design, which offers some of the most amazing acoustics in all of Los Angeles. In that respect, the Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall is a complete success, making it the home of many musical performances to come.
